The Vézère Valley abounds in places of interest. Within easy walking distance of the gîte is La Roque St Christophe - a prehistoric city built into a cliff face and occupied into the middle ages. Le Moustier found fame for the discovery of a type of Neanderthal stone implement to which the village gives its name. The site of these discoveries is very close to the gîte.

Within a very short drive of the gîte can be found the historic and picturesque towns of Montignac and Rouffignac and the villages of Les Eyzies and St Léon sur Vézère. Montignac is famous for the Lascaux Cave Paintings, Rouffignac and Les Eyzies for prehistoric artifacts and St Léon for its charm. There are plenty of walks, bicycles can be borrowed or canoes can be hired from many locations along the valley for trips down the river.
